Introduction
In an effort to continually expand the capabilities of Tango Space, we are excited to introduce new features to support Locker Management. With the evolution of the hybrid workspace and hot-desking/hoteling, there is a greater need for personal storage for employees that work in non-dedicated spaces. Tango's Locker Management functionality provides this support.
Enhancements
1. Locker Setup
Lockers are set up as an asset record in Tango and assigned to a Space (wherever the Locker Bank is). A new checkbox, Enable Used By, has been added to the General tab of the asset summary. This checkbox enables the Used By field in the Asset Detail tab when it is selected.
Asset Detail tab
As described above, a new field, Used By, has been added to the Asset Details tab. This field allows the users to search for and assign a person to the asset.
Note: Used By can only be used when the Associated Entity Type is Space.
2. Person (HR) Record
Changes to the person's locker can be made in the Assets tab of the Person record. A new sub-section, Associated Assets, has been added to allow the association of a locker. The Assigned Assets functionality has not been changed.
The new Associated Assets section shows assets, where the entity type is Space and Used By, is populated the selected person record.
3. Drawing (CAD) Viewer
The drawing viewer has also been updated to accommodate lockers. Lockers are now listed as an asset type. When associating Lockers with a space, the following fields can be captured:
- Asset Type – A drop-down menu that shows all the asset types available (All is displayed by default)
- Asset ID – This is the asset instance identifier of the asset detail.
- Asset Name – This is the name of the asset instance.
- Used By – This links the person's record to the asset and is selected using the 'Used By' field from the 'Asset Detail' tab. When a locker is detached from a space (utilizing the X icon), the 'Used By' person associated with the asset is also removed.
Note: The + icon is used to add an asset association, the X icon is used to remove an asset association. This functionality has not changed.
Below, the new Assets sub-tab shows how lockers are displayed.

4. Locker Badge Icon
A new Lockers badge icon was also created to allow the users to view and manage the lockers.
Manage Lockers
Within the Lockers icon, the following actions can be managed:
-
Add Locker
- When the Add Locker button is pressed, the user can add a new Locker to a space
-
Remove Lockers
- When the Remove Lockers button is pressed without any entries being checked in the left-most column, the highlighted record will be removed (made inactive, not deleted).
- When the Remove Lockers button is pressed with one or more entries being checked in the left-most column, all highlighted records will be removed (made inactive, not deleted)
-
Add Person
- When the Add Person button is pressed, the user can add a person to the highlighted locker.
-
Remove People
- When the Remove People button is pressed without any entries being checked in the left-most column, the person will be dissociated with the highlighted locker.
- When the Remove People button is pressed with one or more entries selected, people will be removed from all the highlighted lockers.
Note: If the Assigned To HR is involved in a MAC (Move Request), a MAC number will display and allow the user to hyperlink to the Request to verify the move date. This will allow users to associate new Lockers with no overlap of usage.
