Tango Reserve M365 Connector - Client Checklist for Test Sync

Modified on Tue, 14 Apr at 3:00 PM

This checklist helps your team prepare for the Reserve + M365 (Exchange) Connector implementation and test sync.
Please complete each step before your test session with the Tango team.

Step 1: Review Key Resources

Step 2: Prepare Your Microsoft 365 (Exchange) Environment

  • Create or identify meeting room resources in M365 to use for the initial test.

    • Use consistent naming conventions for all rooms.

    • Set each room’s calendar to Auto Accept meeting requests.

  • Confirm Exchange rules match Reserve policies.

    • Examples: maximum number of days in advance, booking limits, etc.

Step 3: Prepare Your Reserve Environment

  • Create Collaboration Space Assets in Reserve.

    • Use the same naming conventions as your M365 room resources to ensure accurate mapping.

  • Ensure policies align between M365 and Reserve.

    • Double-check booking, access, and reservation rules.

Step 4: Register the Connector in Microsoft Entra

  • Register the Reserve Connector as an application in Entra with the correct permissions.

    • Follow the steps in the Entra setup article for guidance.

  • You’ll need to provide Tango with the following details from Entra:

    • Tenant ID

    • Client ID

    • Client Secret Value

Step 5: Create the Connector Service Account in Reserve

  • As a Reserve Admin, create a new user account in Reserve (using a unique email address).

    • This will serve as the Connector service account.

  • Assign this user the Administrator role.

  • Confirm the user has the following permissions:

    • “Create Reservations for Another User”

    • “Manage Another User’s Reservation”

    • “Override Password Expiration” is enabled

  • Ensure the Connector user:

    • Is in a user group with access to all Exchange-linked assets.

    • Is marked as Private in the user profile.

  • Provide the Reserve Password for this account to Tango.

Step 6: Complete Asset/Room Mapping

  • Fill out the Template - Reserve M365 Room Mapping (attached).

    • Include all test rooms to be used in the sync.

  • Return the completed template to your Tango implementation team.

Step 7: Final Confirmation

  • Review and confirm your test plan with your Tango team before the test sync.

Tip:

Using consistent names for rooms and assets across both systems is critical for a successful sync!
