Is the Data Management Utility an ETL Tool?

The Data Management Utility is a tool which loads data into a Reserve; it is not a full service ETL tool which extracts data from external systems, such as Active Directory or PeopleSoft, transforms the data into the necessary format and then loads the data into the Reserve. That being said, the Data Management Utility can be used as part of a larger ETL process. If you need assistance with either the extraction and/or transformation of data, we'd be happy to help!

Customers who are familiar with doing extractions and transformations may also want to use the Data Management Utility in combination with a Task Scheduler to regularly run these jobs automatically. Again, if you need assistance with setting up these scripts please let us know!

Who can access the DMU?

Only Administrators with a valid Reserve login may access the DMU and its features. End users do not have privileges to access.
