PLEASE NOTE:
Before proceeding with the DMU download, customers should not change the DMU on the UMP server without contacting Tango Support first. Updating the DMU can cause incompatibilities that can cause the UMP to fail. This document is for local machines for Reserve Admin use, and not to be performed on the UMP server without assistance from Tango Reserve.
The Data Management Utility (DMU) allows Reserve Administrators to manage the Reserve data in bulk from both a User Interface and a Command Line Interface.
The purpose of this article is to outline the steps to download and install the DMU.
The DMU UI is used by Reserve Administrator to bulk manage data in Reserve. Admins can:
- Add new Locations, Assets & Users, in bulk
- Modify existing Locations, Assets & Users, in bulk
- Archive existing Locations, Assets & Users, in bulk
- Manage Departments, Titles, Charge Codes, Business Units
- Add Reservations
Min System Requirements: Windows 10 or higher.

Install the DMU
To install:
Go through the Windows Installer steps by clicking Next and select Standard Install.
Note: When installing the DMU for the purposes of the UMP, use the Portable Install method and choose the appropriate directory for use with the UMP.
Click Next to install to the default folder or select your preferred folder.
Click Next
Click Install
Let the program run and then click Finish
Once the DMU is installed, you will see it as an icon on your desktop.
Log in to the DMU
Log in to the DMU using your Reserve credentials. You have to be an ADMIN in Reserve to use the DMU.
Note: If your organization uses SAML for SSO, your SAML credentials will not work to log in to the DMU. You will need to use Reserve authentication to log in. This is your email address and Reserve password.
Click Select to choose the region or environment to log into.
Then select LOG IN.

Using the DMU
Decide what Reserve updates you need to make. Is it to manage locations, assets or users? Are you adding, modifying or archiving data?
The step by step instructions to use the DMU can be found in the Success Portal.
