Microsoft announced that they will move away from Basic Authentication access for EWS, with support ending in 2021 (previously Oct 13, 2020). You can read more about this announcement on the Microsoft Tech Community page here.
What does this mean for Reserve customers using Reserve + Exchange integration with Office 365?
A new Exchange Connector using OAuth is now available and our team will contact you to coordinate a time for the update. It will require that you register the application for OAuth in Azure and to provide information during a working session with the Tango Reserve team. Check out this article for more details on the steps to register your application.
Is Tango requiring customers to switch to OAuth?
Tango is not requiring this change. Microsoft has mandated that all applications begin to phase out Basic Auth which is the way we have been authenticating and move to OAuth. We are happy to continue supporting customers on Basic Authentication as long as Microsoft allows it, but it will ultimately be turned off by Microsoft; which they have announced to be sometime in the 2nd half of 2021.
