How does Dynamic Logic work for Assets?

Modified on Tue, 3 Mar at 1:10 AM

  • Dynamic Assets are most commonly used in large spaces that can be divided into multiple assets.
    • For example, “Event Space A” and “Event Space B” can be combined by removing a partition to create “Event Space AB”.
      • By identifying “Event Space AB” as a dynamic asset, users are not able to reserve “Event Space A” and/or “Event Space B” if “Event Space AB” has been reserved during the requested time.
      • Correspondingly, if “Event Space A” and/or “Event Space B” are reserved, users are unable to book “Event Space AB” during the requested times.

Important Note for Exchange Integration Customers:

Because Exchange does not have a dynamic room logic that works similar to Reserve, it is not possible to use the Reserve+Exchange integration in combination with the dynamic room logic. Two options are available:

  1. Keep the dynamic room logic for these rooms and make them only bookable in Reserve OR
  2. Keep the rooms bookable in Reserve and Exchange but don't use the dynamic room logic. Meaning, users would have to book both smaller rooms to use the large combined room.
