Across a project there can be many different contributors. Some are Tango system users who can directly update a project inside the application and others might be external resources that do not have access to your tango system. With the milestone update request function you can request updates from milestone resources, internal or external, and they can provide a milestone actual date from a secure stand alone update page.
In order for an update request to be sent there must be a resource assigned to the milestone.
On the project schedule page, a new column of checkboxes and an action button are available to request updates. (To use these new features, you will need to make a request with Tango Support to enable this column and button)
You can request updates for as many milestones as you want. After you have selected all of the milestones you would like updated, click the "Request Update" button to add them to the update queue. The request email is not sent immediately, but during a scheduled job that night. Using a scheduled job to send the update requests allows Tango to bundle all the requests for each recipient. Instead of receiving an email for each milestone, the assigned resource will receive one email with a link to all of their update requests in one place.
When you click on the custom link you are taken to a secure update page which will require a (OTP) One-Time-Password for entry. The OTP is automatically sent to the users email.
Once authenticated you can now see all of the milestones assigned and provide the 'Actual Date' to complete the milestone.
Clicking save, commits those updates directly to the Tango Project and will be immediately reflected within the Tango Projects Module.
