In the event that a bulk update was conducted through the DMU using an incorrect word editor format, it may result in names displaying special characters or appearing malformed when viewed in Tango Reserve, if the user has unique characters in their name (i.e. Baušyte)
To resolve this issue, please follow the steps outlined below after downloading the users from the DMU. (This should display correctly when opened in a valid text editor such as NOTEPAD++.)
- Launch Microsoft Excel.
- Navigate to the Data tab, then select From Text/CSV.
- Locate and select the .txt file you wish to import.
- When the preview window appears, ensure that File Origin (found in the upper-left corner) is set to 65001: Unicode (UTF-8), as illustrated in the screenshot below.
- Click Load to import the file into Excel.
- After the file has been imported, select File > Save As and save the workbook as a CSV (*.csv) file.
This procedure guarantees that the file is imported with the correct character encoding and saved in the necessary CSV format.*
