Issue with The French accents not compatible with the CSV when using the DMU.

Modified on Tue, 3 Mar at 1:12 AM

Issue: Using the DMU to load data with French accents but the formatting is changing when trying to load it via the DMU.

Ex:  Floor name is: 9e étage but it is showing up as 9e tage

To resolve, format of the file being used needs to be in UTF-8 or UTF-8 BOM to handle certain accent characters.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open the DMU
  2. Download the template you plan to use.

  3. After downloading the template do a File -> Save As

  4. Where the file type is, click the arrow and select CSV UTF-8.

  5. Complete the template with your data and save the asset template as as CSV UTF-8 and then upload your file using the DMU.

Note:  The log file will not show the accent marks correctly but it will upload the data into Reserve correctly.
