Room Kiosk Set Up Requirements

Modified on Tue, 3 Mar at 1:20 AM

Requirements for the Room Kiosk App:

  1. A device that can download and run the Room Kiosk Application.

  2. Port 443 is required for the main Room Kiosk functionality. Port 587 is used to send "Reports" from the Room Kiosk to Reserve Support should you wish to share logs and error information.
  3. Assets created in Reserve that will utilize signage
  4. Assets to be configured to signage available
  5. A service account user aka the Room Kiosk Service Account User to be created in Reserve (see step 3 for requirements for this user)
  6. The Room Kiosk Service Account User must be created in your  Reserve instance in order to:
      • Get the latest Reservation/Availability information for the Asset so that it can be displayed on the Room Kiosk.
      • Allow Anonymous activity, such as creating Reservations, Checking Into Reservations, Ending Reservations, etc.
        1. It is recommended that the User who is associated with the Room Kiosk not be a ‘real’ person but rather a ‘User’ who is created for the sole purpose of being associated with your Account’s Room Kiosks. You may use the same ‘User’ for each of your Room Kiosk devices or you may create separate ‘Users’ for each Room Kiosk device.
        2. If no such User exists please take a few moments to create a ‘User’ for the Room Kiosk(s). Please note, this ‘User’:
          1. Recommended to be an Administrator role
          2. Must have a unique and valid email address, such as room_kiosk@company.com.
          3. Must have a password.
          4. Should have a name that identifies its purpose, such as ‘Kiosk User’.
          5. Must have the Right to 'Create Reservations for Another User & Manage Another User's Reservations'.
          6. Must have the Permission to RESERVE the Asset that is associated with this Room Kiosk. This means that this ‘User’ must be in a User Group that has the Permission to RESERVE an Asset Group that includes the Room associated with this Room Kiosk.

Once these items are complete, the Room Kiosk Wizard can be used to configure each sign.
