This article will detail set up & configuration of the Room Kiosk App for Windows based devices. We recommend that you also review our Lobby Kiosk and Room Kiosk for Reserve video.
The Tango Reserve Reserve Room Kiosk is an application that can run on any device which meets the application SOE.
These devices are typically placed outside of meeting rooms, so each device is connected to one asset. The app will display current reservations, so that users may see asset availability, reservations upcoming, or, in progress, and finally so they can use the Room Kiosk to book the room or check-in to the room.
Where to find the app?
Before you configure the Tango Reserve Room Kiosk application on your device, you will need to prepare the following:
- You must have an Admin account in Reserve to set up and manage the Room Kiosk.
- Pick your hardware - but first, review the system requirements (see the app link above which will contain system requirements)
- Complete the asset data entry in Reserve
- An active Reserve Asset must exist for the Room Kiosk to be able to be configured
- Create a user in your Reserve that can manage the kiosk.
- We recommend using a service account specifically for Reserve Room Kiosk
- The user can have any User Role, but must have the right to Manage Kiosk Settings.
- Click the Microsoft App Store link above, or, search the Microsoft App Store for Tango Reserve Room Kiosk. You will see results for the Reserve Room Kiosk app, which free to download.
- Download and install the app on your device.
- Make a note of the desired Asset Location, Type and name to be configured with the device.
- Port 443 is required for the main Room Kiosk functionality. Port 587 is used to send "Reports" from the Room Kiosk to Reserve Support should you wish to share logs and error information.
Configuration steps:
Open the newly downloaded app on your Reserve Room Kiosk device.
- First, select "existing customer"
- If you are a new customer, you will be presented with options on how to create an account
- You will first be shown the getting started screen, reminding you of what information you will need.
- Select the Reserve Environment: US, EU, Canadian Environment, Customer Staging or Development Sandbox.
- Tip: Production environments are US, EU and Canadian

- Your language is already defaulted, make changes or click next
- Sign in with your Admin account or the Kiosk User you’ve already created
- Note: the user account must have the right to manage kiosk settings to do this
Choose the Location, Category and Type and click Next
- Select the Asset to be configured to this device, then click "next"
- Choose the desired Asset image, if any, that you wish to be displayed on the Room Kiosk, and then click "next:"
- Select a User to be associated with the Room Kiosk.
- This is where you will sign in with the Room Kiosk service account user that you’ve already created
- This is where you will sign in with the Room Kiosk service account user that you’ve already created
- Click "next" once credentials have been entered
- The next selection is for SAML. If you’re going to use SAML from the device, you would enter the your organization's EAS SAML URL here. If not, click "next:"
- Note: you will receive your EAS SAML URL from your Implementation Project Manager once SAML set up is completed.
- The next screen is for Badge Authentication. If you’re using a badge scanner to login in to the kiosk, this is where you would set up the parameters for your reader. If not, click "Finish"
- The application will update for a few seconds and will then display your Asset of choice
Congratulations! You have set up your Room Kiosk device and connected it to your Asset.
Additional information regarding Room Kiosk options:
- You can view the Asset's schedule from the device by selecting the calendar view. From here you can also make a reservation by selecting the time.
- You may also view a floor plan of the room's location
- Authentication options:
- Reserve Authentication, SAML or Badge Authentication.
- Authentication is required for all actions as a default.
- The Room Kiosk can be set so that authentication on the device is not required when performing certain actions like Checking-in, Cancelling, Checking Out etc. This setting is done by Tango. Please send your request to your project manager or Tango support.
