Gap Conflicting Workspace Reservations are useful when a user tends to reserve more than one workspace during a time period.*
For example, if a Registered User has a long term reservation in one workspace, but then makes a second reservation for the same day in another, this option will allow the first workspace to be freed up during the time of the second reservation so that other Registered Users may use the first space. This allows for better utilization of workspaces.
*Please note, this rule only applies to Continuous or NED reservations. Single Day reservations will not "gap."
How to set this up in Tango Reserve:
- In Agilquest Reserve, go to "Settings" and then to the "Users" tab.
- Select a user.
- To enable, check the box beside "Gap Conflicting Workspace Reservations"
- A 'yes' check indicates that when the Registered User has an existing Workspace Reservation and they create another Workspace Reservation that occurs during the same time as the first Reservation, then the application will automatically Cancel the conflicting block of time from the first Reservation, all while retaining the rest of the first Reservation.
- For example, the User has a Workspace Reservation on Monday at 8 AM - Friday at 5 PM. They create another Workspace Reservation on Tuesday at 9 AM - 10 AM. The application will modify the first Reservation so that it is from Monday at 8 AM - Tuesday at 9 AM and Tuesday at 10 AM - Friday at 5 PM.
- This way, the User only has one Workspace Reservation on Tuesday at 9 AM - 10 AM.
- Leaving the box blank indicates that none of the above should happen when the User has more than one Workspace Reservation.
