Sample Reserve Test Plan

Modified on Tue, 3 Mar at 1:14 AM

We know that testing is an important part of your implementation plan. It helps you validate the data that you've entered and that the business rules you have chosen meet the business requirements you have identified. It's also a good way to understand how the application works and prepare your teams for the new workflow. This validation is often carried out by users who are familiar with your business requirements.

As best practice, break up your test group into different roles as they apply in your organization. These roles could include:

  • Administrator
  • Manager
  • Community Manager
  • Registered User (End-Users)

Considerations:

Remember that depending on the user's role and the rights they have been given, the functionality and how the system behaves can differ from user to user.

As an example, Registered Users are bound by the policies that you have chosen in Reserve. Policies like - how far in advance users can book will get applied to these users. But Administrators are typically exempt from these rules.

We also recommend that you communicate these business rules to your testers. That way, they can check against these rules to make sure they are working correctly.
