Depending on how the application permissions are set up in Entra, a user may be prompted to submit a justification to request the use of the Reserve Connector when booking from Reserve. A configuration is available to remove the justification in the prompt.
Note: This only applies when using the Direct Access method with the connector. This does not apply when using the default setup.
Remove the Justification in the Prompt - User Consent Setting
The justification in the prompt can removed by configuring the User Consent setting. In the Microsoft Entra Admin Center:
- Go to Enterprise Applications > Consent and Permissions > User Consent Settings.
- Enable “Allow user consent for apps”.
-
You can restrict this to low-risk permissions or apps from verified publishers
Workflow:
User books from Reserve and is presented with this window.
Expectation:
- The first time a user accesses the app, they will see a consent prompt asking them to approve the requested permissions.
- Once the user consents, the app is authorized for that user, and they won’t see the prompt again unless the app requests new permissions later.
Consideration
- Should you decide to leave the justification requirement, and to to ensure a smooth user experience and avoid delays in booking rooms on Reserve, it’s recommended that clients establish an internal process for promptly approving these permission requests.
