Display check in option in web application
Early in 2022 as part of the 11.2.4 hotfix, an application property named checkin.show will dictate whether check in is displayed in the Reserve Web Application. When the property is set to true, all users will be able to see check in options and check in. When the property is set to false, all users will not see any check in options. This is AQCOM-12360. When the new business rules detailed below are added, they will replace this application property.
Specify for each user which applications allow check in
In Release 12 planned for Q1 of 2022, new rules are being added to Reserve to limit how users are allowed to check in to workspace and collaboration space reservations. This will prevent Users from checking into room reservations from anywhere other than the room, or by badging into the location. This will be accomplished with two new business rules containing checkboxes for Exchange Add-in, Lobby Kiosk, Mobile Apps, Web, Accessible Interface, and Open Presence Listener (Badge Swipe). Check-in to workspace/collaboration space reservations will be allowed via the interfaces which are checked off AND will always be allowed via Room Kiosk (note that for workspaces currently there are no room kiosks so that is an unlikely scenario). The QR code function will only work in the mobile apps when the QR Code property qr.code.enabled is set to True (must be set for both apps). If the organization wants to be strict, they can set it to False and this will prevent users from taking a photo of the QR code home with them and scanning it there. This is AQCOM-11134.
There will be sections for workspace and collaboration space and each will have checkboxes for the following:
-
Open Presence Listener
-
Exchange Add-in
-
Lobby Kiosk
-
Mobile Apps without scanning QR code
-
Web
-
Accessible Interface
More details to come.
